Aciotis acuminifolia, a distinctive and lesser-known gem in the world of aquascaping, brings a touch of uniqueness to planted tanks. Hailing from South America, this aquarium plant is characterized by its stiff upright quadrangular stems with opposite and decussate (opposite leaves forming a 'Plus' sign when viewed from above) parallel-veined leaves typical of the family.

Aciotis acuminifolia is a slow growing stem plant, with teardrop shaped green or yellow to reddish leaves with red undersides. Under intense lighting, this red colouration is deepened.

This plant is not difficult to grow providing its needs are met. Aciotis acuminifolia prefers soft water and regular fertilisation or nutritious substrate. Moderate to high lighting will ensure healthy growth is maintained with CO2 injection recommended for best results.
