Chocolate Mint Plant is a great water plants for ponds. This hardy and aromatic herb will add beauty and delightful fragrance to your water garden or pond, making it a great plant both aesthetically and functionally. It can be grown around the edges of ponds half submerged but should not be grown fully submerged

Why choose Chocolate Mint for your pond?
While chocolate mint is a plant taht grows well on land, it does equally well in a pond environment, especially around the edges of a pond or in areas where the soil is wet and waterlogged. It will do perfectly well in such conditions, hence fitting well for ponds.
Natural Pond Filter: Similar to other varieties of mints, chocolate mint is a good oxygenating pond plant by taking up nutrients in excess that would cause overgrowth of algae and an imbalanced ecosystem.
Attracts Wildlife: The denser growth of this plant provides shelter and a home for small pond creatures. It will also attract a few types of pollinators, like bees and butterflies, which are immensely beneficial for the vibrancy of a naturally maintained pond ecosystem.
Low Maintenance: This fast-growing species of chocolate mint herb is pretty low in maintenance. By regular pruning, one can easily keep it in control and keep your pond tidy and allow it to spread moderately.

Planting and Care for Chocolate Mint plant in a Pond
Location : The soil should be moist while planting chocolate mint at the edge of the pond or in shallow waters, as the roots will spread out and establish quickly.
Sunlight: Full sun to partial shade, whichever is appropriate for your climate. If you live in an extremely hot region, a little shade will go a long way in preventing overheating of the plant.
Maintenance: This plant needs to be regularly cut back to prevent the tendency of overgrowing. Mint can become invasive. Make sure it won't choke other plants around your pond.
