Utricularia Gibba

You will receive a 5x5cm flat mat.
Description:
Utricularia gibba, also know as dwarf bladderwort, is a unique carnivorous plant that feeds on small aquatic organisms like mosquito larvae. It is found in many warmer regions of the earth in bogs and on the edges of ponds. This bladderwort floats in stringy mats underwater, but it can also settle on other aquatic plants.
U. gibba has almost stunted-looking leaflets that grow sparsely on the threadlike, thin stems. These leaves carry the bladder traps that catch its prey which consists of tiny aquatic organisms; however they are completely harmless to fish fry or shrimplets and the U. gibba strings provide them with some great cover, similar to moss and other floaters.
