Helanthium Tenellum is a carpeting grass-like plant that bears close resemblance to a mix between dwarf hair grass and micro swords.  The broad leaf variant has thicker leaves that look almost like Dwarf Sagittaria.  This plant grows by sending out lateral runners just like hairgrass and other swords and when grown under proper conditions can spread to cover the foreground of your aquarium.  For smaller nano tanks, this plant can also serve as a short background plant but adequate lighting and CO2 are recommended.

Remove tissue culture gel before planting.  Simply wash the gel away or soak the plant in water and squeeze the gel off with your fingers.

Don'ts:

Avoid shading the Echinodorus Tenellus Var. ‘Broad Leaf’ with other plants, as it can cause the carpet to thin out and hinder growth.
Do not let the plant carpet become too compacted, as it can lead to the accumulation of debris and hinder oxygen and nutrient flow.
Avoid using copper-based medications in the aquarium, as they can be toxic to the plant.
