Product Information
Rotala rotundifolia is a fast growing beginner stem plant that has been a favourite of the planted aquarium world since its introduction. It can thrive in a wide range of water parameters and is an easy plant to grow; it doesn't require high lighting to CO2. However, having higher lighting and CO2 injection pushes it to grow faster, with higher density, and redder coloration.
As stem plants, rotalas grow continually towards the light and will reach the top of most aquariums. If allowed to reach the water surface it will breach the surface eventually and grow emersed leaves and flowers. Rotala Rotundifolia will creep along the substrate and shoot side-shoots, given space and high lighting, If planted in a more crowded area they will grow vertical towards light source. The plant branches more readily when in high-tech setups, and grows straighter with less branching if conditions are less then optimal (low CO2 or low nutrients).
