While Riccia Fluitans is a floating moss, it is commonly used as a foreground plant. To help it stay submerged, it is tied down to rocks or driftwood with line, mesh or glue.

It forms a dense carpet under good lighting and injected Co2. Riccia Fluitans is an extremely popular plant in Aquascaping and was popular by the famous Japanese Aquascaper Amano Takashi.
