Malaysian Trumpet Snail Juveniles

Malaysian Trumpet Snails (Melanoides tuberculata) are beneficial aquarium snails that play a vital role in maintaining the substrate. These snails burrow into the gravel or sand, helping to aerate and prevent the buildup of anaerobic pockets. Malaysian Trumpet Snails are prolific breeders and can quickly populate an aquarium. To breed them successfully, provide stable water conditions and avoid overfeeding, as excess food can contribute to population explosions. Malaysian Trumpet Snails are relatively easy to care for and require a varied diet that includes sinking pellets, algae wafers, and detritus.
Malaysian Trumpet Snails are species of tropical freshwater snails. Malaysian Trumpet Snails have long shells that can grow up to 3cm. The colour of the shells varies from grey to brown, with different patterns. Like most other snails, they are peaceful and community friendly, spending most of their type at the bottom of the tank digging substrate to find food, acting as scavengers.
