Similar to:

Amano Shrimp (Caridina japonica/Caridina multidentata)

Will eat stringy algae, black beard algae, green string algae and black string algae/hair algae and grazes on dead organic matter.

Appearance is variable, may have a full line longitudinally down length of tail, may have broken line, no line at all and/or lateral stripes. Colours and patterns may change in the same individual depending on environment, some look mostly clear with a blue tint, others look more red, brown or black. May change colour depending on environmental factors and substrate colour.

A confident shrimp that will explore all areas of the tank by foot, occasionally swimming about, especially when startled. C.typus are known to crawl out of aquariums,this usually happens on the first 24hrs when introduced to a new tank/environment.

These are the best algae eaters out there, as far as shrimp go.

Can grow up to 3.5cm.

Maintain a temperature range of 72-78°F (22-25.5°C) and provide a varied diet of algae wafers, blanched vegetables, and occasional protein-rich foods.

Shipping Note

We ship from Mondays to Wednesdays (all orders from Monday to noon of Wednesday will be ship out in the same week and any orders made after noon of Wednesday will be processed next Monday).

For any livestock you have in your order, we will ship them via Australia Post express service. This will usually take 24 - 48 hours to reach you after leaving our workshop.

Any other dry goods, bonsai, plants, and accessories will be sent via standard post. Usually, you will receive the items within 3-7 business day after order is fulfilled.
