Description
Description: Crypt Flamingo is a very rare aquarium plant in Australia. It is not native to any country, being a cultivar of Crypt Wendtii. It has become extremely sought after due to its bright pink colouration. It makes for an extraordinary feature plant in any aquascape and is best placed in the foreground of the aquarium. It will do better in a nutrient rich aquasoil but can also be grown in inert gravel or sand. To bring out its most impressive pink colours, strong lighting is required. Co2 injection is not essential, but the colouration will be closer to brown than pink. Surprisingly, this rare crypt species can grow quite fast once settles and established in the aquarium.
Difficulty: As with all aquarium plants, Co2 injection and appropriate fertilisation are recommended for optimal health and growth. Crypt Flamingo is capable of growing in low tech conditions, but the appearance will be far from optimal.
