Pearl weed (Hemianthus Micranthemoides) is a popular aquatic plant, known for its bright green colour and quick growth. It is easy to care for and can be grown as a carpet, midground or background plant, depending on how often and where it is trimmed. Pearl weed is native to Florida, where it will grow in wet areas with still, stagnant water.
Pearl weed will grow, like most aquatic stem plants, by placing the stems into a substrate, which will begin to root. To propagate pearl weed, cut a piece of a mature and healthy plant, and bury it back into the substrate. If your aquarium has good lighting, the stems will quickly root into the substrate and continue to grow.
