After an alum rinse I broke it up and spread it across a large piece of driftwood. sufficient to plant a square foot of aquarium area or all the driftwood and rocks in a stocked 200L tank. The offcuts are growing at about 3mm/day and after less than 2 weeks is beginning to branch new nodes. only complaint is that it was contaminated with some fontinalis strands but I planted those as well.
arrived well packaged, healthy, and alive. Love it even more when I found out its also called FAIRY MOSS. Looks beautiful floating on top of my pond, only regret that i didn't buy more
Excellent very healthy and happy with the size of the plant. Will definitely order plants again from here. Thank you
Healthy stock. Bright red with prolific roots. Great quantity too. Very happy.
$2.50 for a single pipette is quite expensive, this pipette has a maximum capacity of 3ml. Amazon sells 20 - 200 packs for $10 - $18 AUD. It's handy for dosing aquariums with treatments, but after a month or two of usage, the pipette tip allowed the water to leak. These pipettes are designed to be disposable and offering 1 per $2.50 is like charging 25x the original price.
Bought one to confirm my glass thermo since it was so cheap. It's pretty accurate without having me squint my eyes to check my glass one. The free batteries is always a nice inclusion too!
Side note for other customers:
If you set your heater to 25°C and your thermo is off by a few, that doesn't mean it's inaccurate or broken. You're aquarium's temp fluctuates through out the day. One day it's -0.4°C below 25°C, or 2°C higher the next. Most of it's contributed to room temps, aquarium lights and whether you have a lid or not.
Azolla is not only a great chicken feed, It is an extremely interesting plant to grow.
I have also found that once you get the pH set correctly ( between 5 to 7 ) the growth certainly starts to takeoff, each day the growth is very noticeable.
And only use rain tank water, never water with fluoride.
I also a couple of times a week give it a spray of lightly mixed ( not too strong ) Seasol, which naturally aids the root growth.
It is still early days to comment as the plants are not established.
The customer service has been really good as the items orders were sent very quickly after purchase.
Product not as advertised. Arrived in ziplock bags, no soil, no water… just mush in a bag
